A Message From Your Chapter President

As we usher in the New Year I would like to share with you the many activities that the local board and national have been working on this past year to bring you the best NACE has to offer.  Much time and attention have been dedicated to create resources for networking, increased exposure, and wonderful education opportunities.

Our new Website has been launched and we are very excited about the new user friendly format and benefits to our members which include a calendar of upcoming programs, meeting photos, career opportunities, referral list and a link to national resources such as the Catering Research Institute that conducts the Trends Report, E-News Network, and educational conference and event registration. One of the perks of our new website is to provide a tool to the consumer who is looking for specific products or services.

Programs are hot this year with a full schedule of excellent speakers and education already in place.  Added to that are community service activities, social mixers and charitable fundraisers, all the necessary ingredients for a successful year of personal and professional growth. On the national level, we have four Leadership Summits in different quadrants of the country where chapter leaders gather to learn more about the business of our association and attend seminars relevant to chapter association leadership. 

Experience 2008! The Future of Catering and Event Design is the theme of the national Education Conference where catering professionals from all areas of the continent will gather in Philadelphia to learn more about the ever changing trends that affect the catering and event industry.  This is also a landmark year for NACE as we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of NACE in the City of Brotherly Love.  I encourage all who can to plan to attend at least one national conference; it is an awesome experience!

Take a moment to mark your calendars for the 3rd Tuesday of every month to invest in your education, personal growth and success by attending the local chapter meetings.  Being a member of NACE affords us the opportunity to better ourselves and builds strong business relationships with peers in the industry.  We welcome your ideas, input and most of all, proactive involvement. 

I am excited about going into my second year serving as Chapter President and will work hard along with the local Board of Directors to provide a positive NACE experience for all. Thank you for your continued support, come see and be seen!
